What can you do?
- PRAY - Ask God to intercede for the innocent. Ask him to provide families for those who need them. Ask for his provision on those who care for unwanted children across the globe.
- ADVOCATE - Share this blog! Share our story! Share Reece's Rainbow! Crystal Kupper did and now there will be one less orphan in the world!!! Help raise awareness of the issues! There are families out there for all of the children listed on Reece's Rainbow...we just need to find them one at a time!
- GIVE - Adoption is expensive. The fees for an average international adoption can add up to $25,000-$40,000. This price tag scares many willing and able families away from the prospect of opening their lives to a child who needs them. Organizations like Reece's Rainbow were established to help defray the cost of adoption. Money shouldn't matter when it comes to providing a loving home for a child. So, if you're able, consider donating to a waiting child or to a family in the process of adopting.
- SUPPORT - Support the families you know who have adopted. Adoption is hard. In nearly every adoption, the child brings with him or her emotional and psychological baggage in addition to any physical disability. Be a listening ear to a mother who's child is having a difficult time attaching to her. Offer to babysit for an adoptive couple who haven't had a date night in years. Bring a meal to a family that rushes to and from therapy sessions almost every night of the week.
If this blog spurs just one other person toward action for orphan justice, then the journey was worth it. The ripple effects have reached the Etters...will you keep them going?
